Il professor Koch Paul Allen,
tramite il suo avvocato, sostiene di essere stato all’oscuro del fatto che l’articolo
“Synaptic strengthening and continuum activity-wave growth in temporal
sequencing during cognitive tasks” fosse stato plagiato. Asserisce di averne
scritto la parte non plagiata, ed è un progresso, perché prima diceva di non
sapere neanche che l’articolo esistesse e fosse stato pubblicato.
Koch e Leisman hanno
pubblicato insieme 22 articoli dal 1989 al 2015. In tutta la sua carriera Koch
ha pubblicato 34 articoli; dal 1989 ha pubblicato solo ed esclusivamente insieme a Leisman. Koch e Leisman non sono collaboratori occasionali, sono due soci ed
è impensabile la mancanza di consapevolezza di uno dei due; hanno continuato a pubblicare insieme anche dopo la scoperta del plagio.
Addossandosi tutte le responsabilità Leisman ha dichiarato il falso per aiutare il socio a non pagare il risarcimento alla parte lesa.
